CLASSMATE BIO
Mark Swick
Mark was my beloved boyfriend of 9 1/2 years
when he passed away unexpectedly of a massive heart attack on 2/19/2006. Mark
was working at Milltown Paper, and was sober, happy and had gained a new lease
on life this last 2 1/2 years. He particularly enjoyed fishing, bowling,
crossword puzzles, watching "Becker" and playing with our dog Scrappy and our
cat Molly. Mark loved, enjoyed and was very proud of his two children, Steve and
Sara, and his three grandchildren: Tierra, Tim and Hailie. He was a family man
and worked hard to give us a good home, and to take care of his mom MaryAnn, his
sister Cheryl and his Aunt Ginnie too, but he never forgot his youthful exploits
and often regaled me with stories of playing around down by the river, and
getting in trouble at school and on into his twenties and thirties! Whether he
was washing dishes to Metallica or puttering around in the basement with his
power tools on his latest project, untangling my fishing line for the 47th time
or reading one of his Conan books for the 5th time, he lived his life with zest,
helped anyone around him who needed it, swore like a sailor as a matter of
course with every sentence, and was always ready with a 400 watt smile, a witty
joke or a down-home simile straight out of Hee Haw! I feel blessed and honored
to have shared my life and home with this very special man, and particularly to
have been with him to see him fight his personal demons and win. He was a source
of love, joy and inspiration to me and although I will miss him every day of my
life, until I die I will also feel warmed every day by the memory of his
unswerving loyalty, strength, patience, intelligence, humor and love. Kate Ewing
