CLASSMATE BIO

Theresa Porter

July 2005

I retired early in 2004 after 20 years of military service, the last 10 of which were as the full-time "JAG" in the Oregon National Guard. I now volunteer with hospice, my church, and Girl Scouts. I'm thinking about going back to work-- college expenses loom for my 12- and 14-year-old daughters. My husband of eighteen years, Jon, is a pilot for Horizon Airlines (flies in the West).

I look at the names and can't remember the faces. I'm glad I can still pronouce some of the names after 20+ years away. I am interested in what you are up to, not so much because of shared memories, but because I wonder what we might have in common now. I went to the tenth reunion and recall a few of us were heading back to school, in my case to law school at U. of Mich. I had just met my future husband. I finished law school (degree from Michigan though thrid year was at U of Tx so I could be closer to my husband). I went back in the Army as a JAG and spent four years at Fort Richardson, Alaska (near Anchorage). Both of my daughters were born there ('91 and '93). Now I'm with the Oregon National Guard. I will retire in Jan '04. I plan to stay here when I retire.
