June, 2006:
Sorry I won't be able to be the designated
driver for this year's reunion guys. I will be in St. Louis at the Unitarian
Universalist National Convention as a delegate for our Lake Country UU
congregation in Hartland. Also, that weekend is the Midwest Renewable Energy
Fair in Custer, WI. My husband Mike and I are still working the organic farm we
own outside of Milwaukee. Our two girls keep us busy with sports, theater and
Girl Scouts besides working the farm. Lately, we find ourselves part the
"Sandwich generation" taking care of Mike's aging parents and their health. I
was in Appleton in May, and see some things have changed. What a wonderful
downtown, it has become once again.
Thank you to the Reunion committee for all your work.
Memories: The reunions also give me some fun memories. I moved to Wisconsin my Senior year High School. On our first day into Appleton, my father pointed to Appleon West, said that he had gone to High School there, and I would probably be going to my Senior year of high school there. I began to cry. I missed California so much.
I'm glad I was able to go to East. A little more updated in 1976. I remember Mr.
Biolio's math class, and how the sports team was so much a part of the class.
They were so talkative during class. Remember Scott!! I so enjoyed going to the
East basketball games at Neenah with my buddies, and some of them needing to
have a talk with someone on Monday. Or how we would go over to the West High
School dances and lose a contact lens!!
